Vesterål experiences in a nutshell

One of the major attractions is whale watching, but you also find other populare sea and land-related safari.

Even more people visit the region to hike in the countless, varied mountains you find here.

Vesteråles has well over 200 different types of paths, either along the coast or in the mountains.

There is not so much light pollution in Vesterålen and is therefor perfect for northern lights observations.

Here you find the spectacular Trollfjord located in Raftsundet. One of Norway's most beautiful stretches of sea is our claim.

Because Vesterålen consists of many larger and smaller islands, the area is ideal for sea kayakking. There are lovely archipelagos that provide shelter from the ocean, but for those who like to be more exposed, the outer side of Vesterålen is fantastic!

Large quantities of Skrei are caught here in winter. You also find great fishing lakes for ice fishing - and fishing with rod in summer.

Vesterålen has varied accommodation options - hotels to rorbu, hostels and campsites.

Driving around Vesterålen is pure adventure. Scenical views, niche businesses with lovely little cafes, hidden beaches, visitor centres, sculpture landscape and unique museums.
