As a tourist, you can ask us anything you wonder about your visit to Vesterålen.  We gladly answer questions activities, where to sleep, where to eat and tourist attractions in our beautiful region.

Vesterålen is widely known for its whale safaris, bird and seal safaris and is a favourite destination for tourist fishermen and mountain trekkers.

Dronningruta (The Queen's Route) in Øksnes and the guided trek to the summit of Møysalen through the Møysalen National Park are specially recommended.

For cyclists who want to enjoy the midnight sun and the open ocean, exciting experiences await you. Send us an e-mail here. Many tourists make Vesterålen their home base for side trips to Lofoten.

Througout the region there is a wide range of overnight facilities, from full service hotels, modern rorbu cabins, well-equipped campsites to single rooms for hire.

In addition, Vesterålen is a popular destination for tourists during the winter. The stormy weather and the northern lights are spectacular natural phenomena to be enjoyed here. Machine-groomed cross country trails and lighted ski tracks at Ånstadblåheia are popular among skiers. During the late winter months, many tourists come here to ice-fish or take part in deap sea fishing for Skrei.
