About Whale Safari tour
Our whale safaris last normally between 2 and 4 hours, thanks to the short distance from the harbour to the whales’ feeding grounds. Our guides are mostly biologists or students of the subject and take good care of our guests both on the boat and at the whale centre.
At the whale centre visitors get a guided tour of our exhibition, giving insight about whale biology and marine ecology. The guided tours are offered in several languages. Whalesafari has also contributed also to whale research since its start in 1988.
In addition to the museum, at the Whale Centre you will find a shop with exclusive souvenirs and a café/restaurant.
While at sea, you can also count on our crew’s long seafaring experience and skill in searching for and finding the whales. Our boats are fully equipped and adapted as whale-watching vessels.
On our whale safaris we offer our unique whale guarantee: if the boat doesn’t find any whales, you can get a free ticket for the next available departure, or a 100% refund of the ticket price. Seeing whales gets hardly more secure than this!
NB: Whale safaris are weather-dependent (they can be cancelled in case of strong wind at sea or thick fog). For this reason we suggest to plan a couple of days in the area, if possible.
Duration: 2-4 hours (normally)
Point of departure: Andenes.
