Lighthouse in Vesterålen

Throughout history there has been more than 200 manned light houses in Norway. We have two lighthouses in Vesterålen that you can visit.

Andenes fyr

(Andenes lighthouse) is a coastal lighthouse located at the northern end of the island of Andøya, in the village of Andenes. It was established in 1859, automated in 1978 and listed as a protected site in 1999. The lighthouse is managed by the nearby Whalecentre, which offers guided tours during the summer season.

Litløy fyr

Litløy Lighouse is the western most point you can reach in Vesterålen. The lighthouse is standing alone on a small island in the middle of the open sea. The lighthouse owner, Ellen Marie Hansteensen, is living there all year round and is therefore ready to receive you all seasons. There is a small and exclusive guest section where you can stay overnight. Read more about the lighthouse here

Anda fyr

Anda Lighthouse is located on the little island Anda in Øksnes municipality. It was built in the years 1931-33. Anda is an important nesting area for puffins, kittiwakes, auks, European shags, herring gulls and blaxk-backed gulls. Because it is a nature reserve you can not go ashore to Anda.
