Uværshula

Southeast on Hadseløya, popularly known as the "outer side" of Hadseløya, is home to Teigan, a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Not only because of the fine sandy beach, mountains and rural nature in the immediate area, but also because of a small structure called "Uværshula" that is well shielded between two outcrops down at the shore. The popularity of this storm shelter caused several to be built in other locations.

Teigan

Uværshula at Teigan is one of the most peculiar and popular local attractions that gives you an unique experience. Right in the high-tide mark, nicely placed on a small ridge, with great views of the shoreline and the sea, you will find Uværshula. The surrounding landscape is naturally raw, clearly characterized by erosion from wind and weather. On all sides around the Uværshula there are boulders that rise from the shoreline, rocks, edges, cliffs, rough pebble beaches, yes, real wild and untouched nature at its most beautiful.

Årnesan

This is a popular outdoors area that offers great hiking experiences no matter the season, wind or weather. With a gravel path along the shoreline all the way to the Uværshula, the hiking area is easily accessible to everyone, including bicycles and baby prams. This is an easy walk of about 1 km, which takes about 20 minutes from the parking lot.

Bø in Vesterålen

Uværshula "Havgløtten" in Bø is located at Øksa in Mårsund. If there are winds and waves this is an exciting place to be. It takes only a few minutes to walk to Uværshula from the parking lot, and inside the cabin you are protected from the elements. You can light a fire in the fireplace and look out over the sea and over to Hadseløya and the Lofoten mountains.
