Suggestions for program and itinerary
Day 1:
Start the day at Myre, after a guided tour and storytelling, take the express boat to Tinden in the afternoon. Visit the now protected trading post and get a guided tour of the shop, the fisherman's cabins and the boathouse (must be booked in advance).
From Tinden there is a great hiking trail to Skipnes, 45 minutes to 1 hour through beautiful coastal landscape. If you travel with a lot of luggage, you can take the boat to Skipnes, and then walk to Tinden and back.
At Skipnes you check into authentic fisherman's cabins or a state-of-the-art high-end villa. At the local cafe / restaurant you will have dinner and breakfast.
Day 2:
Starts after breakfast with a tour of the fishing village, visit the sculpture Anna from Vinje and hear the dramatic story. In the local society exhibition, you get an insight into the Ladies in Skipnes - Lived Life. Enjoy life on the quay, the toughest take a bath from the floating pier.
From Tinden, you can either take the express boat to back to Myre and travel from there by car or bicycle, or you can hire a boat transfer to Nyksund, the fishing village that re-emerged.
Here, just take advantage of the local offerings, get a guided tour that will take you through the history of the fishing village and enjoy a good dinner at one of the local restaurants. Accommodation in Nyksund.
Day 3:
After breakfast, we recommend for those who like hiking, a guided tour along Dronningruta to Stø. You can also drive or cycle from Nyksund to Stø, or hire a boat transport. At Stø you get an insight into a small living fishing village where local fishing boats deliver fish at the fish plant, and a guided tour of the historic Langenes area is recommended.
Perhaps a whale safari before you return to Myre?
Many possibilities
Put together your own route according to how many days you have available and what you emphasize. Beautiful scenery, exciting culture and local and seasonal food await you. The proximity to the sea provides good opportunities for fishing, boating and outdoor life, and for the daring; swimming in refreshing surroundings from a chalk-white beach. It is never far between the impressions in Five Fishing Weather!
Check depature and return for the boat
The boat has few departures, so be sure to check the boat departures and talk to the crew about returning.
