Nyksund fishing village

27/03/2022Nyksund is a mosaic that is constantly changing. Nyksund has been evacuated three times, and also risen three times thanks to the diligent efforts of enterprising people with the courage to defy a barren nature, steep mountains, erratic seas and politics.

18/06/2014Dronningruta (The Queen’s Route) is a marked hiking trail between the historical fisherman’s villages Nyksund and Stø in the Vesterålen archipelago. The route is a round trip which winds its way along the coastline, the white sand beach Skipssanden, and over mountain tops 400 meters above sea level with an incredible view of the Atlantic ocean.
