Fjord- and Sea Eagle Safari - Sortland
Fjord and Eagle Safari in the Enchanting Vesterålen! Embarking on a RIB tour is an experience that combines history, nature, and wildlife.
Sortland, often referred to as "The Blue Town" thanks to its iconic blue-painted buildings, marks the starting point of an exciting journey on the water. During the tour, we explore both Djupfjorden and Sigerfjorden, two fjords rich in fascinating history—even for locals. Both fjords are located on Hinnøya, Norway’s largest island, and offer stunning landscapes and a unique Arctic environment.
This experience combines local history with vibrant nature. You’ll have the chance to witness Norway’s largest bird of prey, the white-tailed eagle, often seen impressively up close. With a wingspan that can reach up to 2.5 meters, this majestic bird is a highlight for many. Once endangered, the white-tailed eagle is now a protected species that has made a remarkable comeback.
For this adventure, we use RIB boats (Rigid Inflatable Boats), specially designed for their lightweight, robust construction, and excellent seaworthiness. These boats are ideal for navigating the diverse coastal landscape, whether through calm waters or more challenging conditions. With experienced guides ensuring both comfort and safety, you can enjoy an adventure where safety is always prioritized.
We offer tours year-round, with each season highlighting different aspects of Vesterålen’s spectacular coastal landscape. RIB tours provide a unique opportunity to get close to nature and experience the raw elements.
We are located at Rødbrygga, Strandgata 6, 8400 Sortland. Entrance on the "waterfront-side".
We look forward to taking you on a sea adventure you’ll never forget, here in the beautiful archipelago of Vesterålen!
