DNT Cabins in Vesterålen

Text in English. There are five DNT (National Trekking Association) cabins in the fjords of Vesterålen.

Guvåghytta (5 masl.) 

Guvåghytta is an unmanned cabin in Bø which was named Norway's most beautiful coastal cabin in 2014 by ut.no. It has 19 beds, a boathouse, rowboats, canoes, fishing equipment, gas stove, fireplace and sauna. The cabin is 10 minutes walking away from the pakring lot and is popular with big groups. Access to Guvåghytte requires a DNT key. Read more about Guvåghytta here (Norwegian website). 

Snytindhytta (390 masl.)

Snytindhytta is an unmanned DNT cabin in the beautiful Vesterålen alps, on the outskirts if Møysalen National Park.The cabin sleeps 22 people, and is popular among hikers and ski-enthusiasts all year around. You can reach the cabin from several starting points, or use it as a base for further activities in the area. Facilities: Sauna, fireplace. In 2013 Snytindhytta was named one of the world's best skiing cabins by freeskier.com. Read more about Snytindhytta here (Norwegian website).

Trollfjordhytta (405 masl.)

In the magical landscape surrounding the Trollfjord the unmanned cabin Trollfjordhytta is located. The cabin is popular as a hiking destination, and for experienced trekkers it makes a nice base for the surrounding peaks. The mos tcommon way to reach the cabin is by boat into the Trollfjord, and then hiking up to the cabin. The cabin sleeps 8, and has a sauna and a wood burning fireplace. Ingemannshytta (190 masl.)

Ingemannshytta is an unmanned DNT forest cabin that is well-suited to both daytrips with the whole family, or as a base for trips in the mountainous area around the cabin. It sleeps 5 people. Wood bruning fireplace available. Read more about Ingemannshytta here (Norwegian website). 

Turlagsstua (250 masl)

In the autumn of 2016 Vesterålen Trekking Association took ownership of a former Red-Cross cabin in the Sortland outdoors area. The cabin has been named Turlagsstua and will be opened in 2017. The cabin was built in 1992.
